Compliance Manager

About the DCCC:

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Position Summary:

The DCCC Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the Federal Election Commission (FEC) reporting process for the committee.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for filing all FEC disclosure reports, including 24/48 Hour Reports, Lobbyist Bundling Reports, RFAI responses, and amendments
  • Oversee “best efforts” process for compliance
  • Work with database manager on contribution reconciliation and data integrity
  • Reconcile FEC reports to accounting database and bank reconciliations
  • Review contributions to candidates for accuracy and FEC compliance
  • Review contributions to the committee for compliance; work with finance staff for accuracy/compliance of check processing
  • Review deposit batches and donor database for accuracy and FEC compliance
  • Serve as backup for vouchering and check cutting process
  • Assist with various reconciliation schedules for annual review by outside CPA
  • Manage/oversee the receipt and disbursement of earmarked contributions for the Candidate Services/Fundraising programs.
  • Manage/oversee conduit contributions to candidates
  • Setup all joint fundraising committees
  • Process joint fundraising contributions, transfers and payments
  • Responsible for FEC filings and compliance of all Joint Fundraising Committees.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in political accounting and compliance
  • Superior time management, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • NGP experience is required
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to the election of Democrats to the U.S. House of Representatives
