Reports To: National Field Director and Deputy National Field Director

About the DCCC: The DCCC is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Position Summary: The DCCC is hiring National Regional Field Directors for the 2018 campaign cycle. The RFDs report directly to the National Field Director and Deputy National Field Director, and are primarily responsible for management and oversight of all field operations for a designated region of the country. RFDs will work within their regional pod and department to advocate for field investments, and implement voter contact and GOTV programs in target races. They will work directly with district field directors to ensure that the field operations are meeting programmatic priorities and that the campaign is on track to win. Additionally, the RFDs are responsible for the day to day voter database management needed to support field programs on the ground. The position will be based in Washington, D.C., however applicants should expect to travel to their region on a regular and frequent basis.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coach District Field Directors in program planning, targeting and execution
  • Work alongside National Field Leadership to develop and execute the field program
  • Work within regional pod structure to facilitate cohesion with the field program
  • Work with Congressional campaigns and state party programs to create voter contact universes
  • Analyze and produce daily quantitative reports reflecting progress towards specific goals in targeted districts to assess strength of program
  • Hold field staff accountable for quantitative field progress
  • Assist District Field Directors in developing district field plans
  • Advocate for, allocate, and manage district field budgets and resources
  • Support District Field Director in management of their field budget and resources
  • Ensuring that hiring benchmarks are met with local, diverse, and qualified staff
  • Train and develop District Field Staff
  • Reporting on district field activities with senior members of the committee
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Have at least two cycles of field experience
  • Strong management, coaching, and training experience
  • Experience managing a budget and finances
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting systems
  • Ability to establish a culture of respect and community
  • A demonstrated ability to present data-driven recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders in a clear and persuasive manner
  • A record of building strong working relationships
  • Previously held Deputy Field Director or Field Director positions
  • Highly motivated to achieve winning results
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to communicate information with multiple partners and stakeholders with varying levels of experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player attitude and a strong work ethic are required.
