Desktop Support Technician

Position: Desktop Support Technician 
Reports To: IT Director 

About the DCCC: The DCCC is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Position Summary: The DCCC is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for Tier 1 and Tier 2 end-user support. Duties include imaging and preparing computers, installation of software, setting up hardware, troubleshooting issues, and training end users on technology solutions.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Resolves hardware and software problems with minimum end-user disruption and coordinates hardware repairs with vendors
  • Installs and configures computer related hardware and software
  • Maintains hardware and software inventory
  • Testing and troubleshooting of computers
  • Setting up workstations
  • Identifying and solving any problems that affect computer operating systems and troubleshooting routine problems
  • Training staff on how to use computer hardware and software
  • Maintaining other hardware devices such as printers/copiers and solving printing problems if they arise
  • System imaging and setup
  • Patch management
  • Carrying out other duties as you may be requested by management

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Two years of Desktop Support and/or Help Desk experience.
  • Good communication
  • Ability to troubleshooting
  • The ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
  • Customer service skills

Desired Qualifications

  • MCP, MSDST, A+
  • Knowledge of Kace Management tools (1000/2000)
  • Office 365 and Office desktop applications
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Windows 10
